BACKGROUND Her life was ruined when she turned eighteen. Up until that point, Marjorie (as she goes by these days) once lived a comfortable and happy-enough life. Well-meaning parents and adoring grandparents, loyal friends who stuck to her through a stormy seventeen, a life that was shaping up to be something β Marjorie was looking forward to an ordinary but peaceful life. Then the Helenic Curse made itself known. Named and attributed to the infamous woman whose face launched a thousand ships and brought down a kingdom, the Helenic Curse causes the individual to become the obsessed target of individuals who soon become violent and hellbent on keeping them at any costs. Marjorie learned this the hard way when she was kidnapped by a group of boys who were previously fighting over her, forcing her out of her comfortable life and in a frightening reality that will span for the next five years of her life. Sheβs now twenty-five, twice-divorced, and on the run from them and others who were struck by the curse and by their desires to have her at all costs. Itβs in Midnight Carnival that she finally finds a refuge from the world, able to keep her head down and her hopes of finally being free up, just a bit.
